*10 Jan 1897 Basel, †25 Sep 1985 Thun
Having completed his music studies in Bern, Leipzig and Munich (piano and theoretical subjects) Moechinger then studied business 1917-1923.
Whilst studying on his own Moeschinger spent much time contemplating the various music styles whereby dodecaphony certainly influenced his work after 1954.
From 1927-1943 he worked as a piano and mucial theory teacher (from 1937-1943 at the Conservatory of Berne). From 1943 Moeschinger lived as a freelance composer, initially in Saas-Fee from 1956 to 1978 in the Tessin/Ticino, and since 1978 in Thun.
His works can be found in the University Library of Basel, where the Albert Moeschinger Foundation also resides.
