The Tre Media music publishing company’s catalogue of works is to be absorbed within the G. Ricordi & Co. Stage and Music Publishers Munich catalogue, effective 1st of september 2010.

We are pleased to announce that the catalogue will not only continue to exist but will be enabled to reach the broadest possible audience as it is targeted at a global public under the auspices of Universal Music Publishing, an internationally operating publishing group that encompasses G. Ricordi & Co. Munich, the Robert Forberg Music Publishing House, Casa Ricordi Milan, G. Ricordi & Co. London, Éditions Durand-Salabert-Eschig and Editio Musica Budapest.

Tre Media was founded in Karlsruhe in 1994 by Friederike Zimmermann with the goal of publishing music of our time, unearthing and publishing new composers and working consistently to ensure dissemination of their works. The publishing house has particularly distinguished itself within the Swiss music scene, and the company received recognition from the SUISA Foundation for Music in 2001 with an award “for its extraordinary engagement on behalf of the composers of Switzerland.”

Tre Media’s has directed its efforts worldwide, and its list of published works includes composers from a total of 16 different countries, with particular emphasis on composers from Switzerland; among the composers represented within the catalogue are Gerald Bennett (1942-), Jean-Luc Darbellay (1946-), Franz Furrer-Münch (1924-), Rudolf Kelterborn (1931-), Dennis Kuhn (1957-), Mela Meierhans (1961-), Albert Moeschinger (1897-1985), Christoph Neidhöfer (1967-), Michel Roth (1976-), Madeleine Ruggli (1964-), Robert Suter (1919-2008), Jacques Wildberger (1922-2006), Hans Wüthrich (1937-), Jürg Wyttenbach (1935-) and Gérard Zinsstag (1941-). In keeping with good Ricordi tradition, we will be maintaining the same level of engagement as we assume this new responsibility.

Among the Swiss composers already represented extensively within the catalogues of Ricordi Munich and the Robert Forberg Music Publishing House Munich are Ulrich Gasser, Klaus Huber, Rolf Liebermann, André Richard, Urs Peter Schneider and Hans Wüthrich, as well as Polish composer Bettina Skrzypczak, a longtime resident of Switzerland.

A foray through the catalogue – which will continue to be published on its own as an independent series of editions – reveals a wealth of works spanning numerous countries around the world. Germany is represented with two singular members of the older generation, Ernstalbrecht Stiebler (1934-) and Volker Heyn (1938-), as well as six composers of significance from the middle generation, Thomas Bruttger (1954-), Thomas Gerwin (1955-), Klaus K. Hübler (*1956), Knut Müller (1963-), Michael Reudenbach (1956-) and Christoph Staude (1965-); the works of Jörg Herchet (1943-), Reinhold Urmetzer (1950-) and Toni Völker (1948-) round out this focal point.

Composers heralding from Asia include Noriko Hisada (1963-), Noriko Kawakami (1955-), Heera Kim (1976-), Makoto Shinohara (1931-) und Gyu-Bong Yi (1961-). Attention is also given to the works of composers from South America, namely, Mesias Maiguashca (1938-), Andrés Maupoint (1968-) und Cergio Prudencio (1955-). Great Britain is well-represented with Caroline Wilkins (1953-) and Michael Finnissy (1946-). Composers from Eastern Europe represented within the catalogue include Ladislav Kupkovič (1936-), Bojidar Spassov (1949-) and Anestis Logothetis (1921-1994). Gianluca Ulivelli (1970-) and Stefan Pohlit (1976-), alongside the abovementioned Heera Kim and Swiss composer Michel Roth, constitute the youngest generation represented in the catalogue. Swiss guitarist Christoph Jäggin, who has collaborated closely with the Ricordi publishing house as an editor for many years now, has edited a series consisting of the latest guitar music and guitar chamber music penned by a selection of international composers (including Frangiz Ali-Zadeh, Agustín Fernandez, Takashi Fujii, Aliya Mamedova, Carlos Mastroprietro, Chajjam Mirzazade, Javier Parrado, Fumie Shikichi and Roberto Williams Arce). Joachim Draheim, in turn, has enriched the catalogue as editor of several intriguing adaptations of works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Robert and Clara Schumann; these encompass not only historical adaptations but also some of his own. Other editors of various individual historical works include oboist Christian Hommel and flutist Gerhard Braun.
